Spinazzola may miss the remainder of Euro 2020

Due to injury, Italy’s defender Leonardo Spinazzola may miss the rest of the European Championship. After pulling up sharply while chasing the ball, Spinazzola was taken off the field on a stretcher in the 79th minute of Italy’s 2-1 quarterfinal triumph over Belgium.

The 28-year-old writes on Instagram “Unfortunately we all know how it went but our blue dream continues and with this great group nothing is impossible.”

According to Italian media reports, Spinazzola has travelled to Rome for tests. On Tuesday, Italy will face Spain in the semifinals at Wembley Stadium in London. Meanwhile, the final two quarterfinal matches are set to take place, with the two victors advancing to the finals in London.

In Baku, Denmark will meet the Czech Republic in the early game, while England will face Ukraine in Rome in the late game. England’s first four matches were held at Wembley Stadium, and if the team advances far enough, the semifinals and final could be held there as well.

On Friday, Spain and Italy both advanced to the semifinals. On Tuesday, they’ll face off for a place in the final. On Wednesday, the second semifinal match will take place while the final will be played on July 11.
