Max Verstappen signs a new contract until 2028 with Red Bull

World Champion Max Verstappen signs a long-term contract extension with Oracle Red Bull Racing.

The 24-year-old Dutch driver Max Verstappen has signed a 6-year contract extension with Oracle Red Bull Racing Team. Both parties were more than eager to sign a contract after the 24-year-old Dutch driver won his maiden Formula One World Championship in 2021, overtaking veteran Lewis Hamilton.
Max Verstappen joined Red Bull in 2016 and his career has been on the rise since then, even adding a world championship to his belt in 2021.

He signed a deal in 2020 which saw him with the team for another 3 years. His previous deal ran until the end of 2023, and with the signing of this contract, the Dutch will be with the Orange Army until the end of 2028. After his victory in 2021, Max jokingly said he wanted to stay with the team for another 10-15 years. The total duration, 7 years, of the new contract is supposedly the longest driver deal ever signed in F1.

Verstappen said: “I really enjoy being part of Red Bull Racing, so choosing to stay to the 2028 season was an easy decision” as PTI reports.

The Dutch driver also mentioned his long term plans with the team as he announced his extension. His goal with the team, in 2016, was to win a championship. Since that was achieved, they want to keep the number one tag on the car for a long time.
