On Tuesday, FIA and Formula 1 authorities have confirmed the news that AlfaTauri will be keeping Pierre Gasly and Yuki Tsunoda for the upcoming next season held in the year 2022. Gasly has made his debut in the parent team back in 2017 under the name Torro Rosso, before receiving a huge promotion by the Red Bull team back in 2019.
In 2019, Gasly was demoted back to Torro Rosso due to his poor performance. Since his sensational return back to his sister team, the Frenchmen has been producing one of the finest performances in the history of Formula 1 as he shocked the world by winning in Monza in 2019. Meanwhile, Yuki Tsunoda is one of those rookies who got a chance to race in Formula 1 after he was straightaway given a promotion following one season in Formula 2. Tsunoda said in his latest press conference “I’m excited to be staying with Scuderia AlphaTauri for a second season” Following his relationship with Gasly, he praised him by saying “I’m a very good relationship with Pierre Gasly, I have learnt a lot from him already this year”
The Frenchman is currently in 8th position in the drivers standing who added by quoting “I am very happy to be moving forward with Scuderia AlphaTauri for another season in Formula 1, especially after seeing the progress that we’ve made as a team since I first joined in 2017. The younger Japanese also now becomes the only driver to score points in his F1 debut as he represents Japan, and what has turned out to be a learning process. He is a young talent in the upcoming future
