F1: Red Bull’s Helmut Marko confident of victory at Austrian Grand Prix

Helmut Marko, the advisor of Red Bull Racing, has expressed his confidence in the team’s chances of winning the upcoming Austrian Grand Prix. In an interview, Marko highlighted the enthusiastic support from the fans, particularly the Dutch fans who come out in large numbers to support Max Verstappen.

Verstappen has a strong record at the Austrian circuit, having already secured three victories there. Despite Charles Leclerc’s win in 2022, Marko firmly believes that it will be an RB19 car that crosses the finish line first this year, securing Red Bull’s ninth win of the season.

Marko also mentioned the significance of the moment for the late Dietrich Mateschitz, the founder of Red Bull, expressing both regret and a sense of Mateschitz’s enduring presence within the team. With the team’s dominant form this season, Marko’s confidence in a Red Bull victory at their home race is palpable.

“When you arrive and see the enthusiasm, the full grandstands with a lot of Holland orange for Max, your heart just melts. When our national anthem sounds at the end (for the 101st Red Bull victory)…” Marko said to reports.

“Max has won more times than anyone else here. The track suits him, the many Dutch spur him on. Spielberg is almost a home GP for him – alongside Zandvoort and the Belgian GP where he was born.

“He (Dietrich Mateschitz) would have been really happy with that. Of course, it’s a pity that he wasn’t able to witness it – that’s one of the many moments when you wish Mateschitz were still there. On the other hand, in a way, he’s always with us anyway.”
