F1: Max Verstappen wins Azerbaijan GP

Redbull finishes 1-2 as both Ferrari cars fail to finish the race.

Max Verstappen wins the 2022 Azerbaijan Grand Prix in an exciting race. His Redbull team Sergio Perez finishes second behind him followed by the Mercedes’s George Russell who completes the podium. Only 15 cars finished the race out of 20. Verstappen started from the second row of the grid after finishing 3rd on yesterday’s qualifying. It was a very bad weekend for Ferrari as both of their cars failed to finish the race which will now cost them a massive amount of points in the Constructors championship.

The Ferrari pole sitter Charles Leclerc lost his lead at turn one of the race at the start when Perez overtook him and took over the lead. On Lap 9, the Ferrari of Carlos Sainz suffered a hydraulic issue which forced him to stop the car when he was running 4th in the race. Later on, the race leader Charles Leclerc also had to retire from the race due to a power unit issue making both Ferrari DNF from the race.
