FC Barcelona coach Hansi Flick has voiced optimism about Lamine Yamal’s recovery, stating the teenage star will come back stronger following a season-ending hamstring injury.

Yamal suffered the injury to his left leg (biceps femoris) while scoring a penalty in Barcelona’s 1-0 win over Celta Vigo on Wednesday. The club confirmed on Thursday that the 18-year-old will miss the remainder of the La Liga season but is expected to be fit for Spain’s 2026 World Cup campaign.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s clash against Getafe, Flick said: “It’s not easy for him or for us. We have to manage it. He’ll learn from his first muscle injury. He’ll surely be ready for the World Cup and will come back stronger.”

The German tactician noted Yamal felt discomfort after the penalty but signs were not immediately serious. He stressed team unity for the final six league games as Barcelona chase the title.

Yamal posted an emotional message to fans, expressing disappointment but vowing to return fitter and more motivated.

Flick’s positive outlook aims to keep morale high as the squad adapts without their standout performer of the season.
