Australia defeated India in a nail-biting last-over finish, chasing down a massive target of 223. This win helped the Aussies stay alive in the T20I series against India. Australian skipper Matthew Wade highly praised his boys for their exceptional performances.
“You don’t get much better than that. It was hard work. Kane (Richardson) threw a spanner in the works and had to bowl Maxi in the last over. He played brilliantly and got a 100 in his 100th T20I,” said Wade.
He also optimistically mentioned how the 30 runs in the last over they conceded helped Maxwell get to his hundred.
“I thought we were in the game at 190 after the 19th over, but the last over went for 30. Richardson hurt himself, so I was one short. All in good fun in the end, Maxi probably wouldn’t have gotten a 100 if he didn’t toss up 30 in that over. The boys are in good spirits; hopefully we can pinch another one in the next game and take it down to the last game,” Wade concluded.
Australia and India will face each other in their fourth T20I match in Raipur.
