According to reports, Mumbai’s Jio World Convention Centre is almost certain to host the inaugural Women’s Premier League auction on February 13.
Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) had to consider a few major issues before deciding on the date and venue, one of which was the lack of a convenient location due to the ongoing wedding season.
A BCCI official confirmed that the board of directors is considering holding the auction at the centre. The Convention Centre will be the venue, according to an IPL insider.
The date (February 13) was chosen in response to requests from a few WPL franchises with teams competing in the ongoing ILT20. These teams requested that the auction take place after the ILT20 final on February 12, and the BCCI granted their request.
