VVS Laxman: Bowling in India vs Sri Lanka ODIs will boost Kuldeep and Chahal’s confidence

Former Indian batsman VVS Laxman says that the pair of Kul-Cha (Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal) will perform well in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka, as the three matches will help them to gain confidence back. In the Star Sports show ‘Game Plan’, he said, “I would like to see Kuldeep Yadav and Chahal play in three ODIs because there are six spinners… I think in ODIs, each bowler will get to bowl 10 overs.”

He added, “So the more overs they bowl, they will get confidence back – especially Kuldeep Yadav. I think Kuldeep requires to get his confidence back.” Kuldeep Yadav has not performed well in the last two years. He also praised Surya Kumar Yadav by saying that he should be a part of the T20 World Cup squad.

Surya Kumar Yadav has shown impressive results in IPL (Indian Premier League) for Mumbai Indians (MI) and in the T20I series against England. His quality shot against Jofra Archer in his first ball of the match showed that he has the potential to hit any bowler out of the park.

From July 13, India is set to face the hosts Sri Lanka in a three-match one-day international (ODI) series and as many T20Is.
