Earlier this year, the Former India A player decided to retire as an Indian player, and moved to USA. He had a fabulous outing in the U-19 circuit. He was recognized by the world for his knock of 111 in the final of the tournament, for which he was also named as the Man of the Match. After that he spent a long time as a part of the India A side, but sadly could never make it to the senior team. He also represented three IPL franchises namely Delhi Daredevils, Mumbai Indians, and Rajasthan Royals. In his long domestic career in India, he played more than 60 first class matches, yet nothing could click for him to make the transition from domestic to international team.
Talking about the move Chand said, “I’m very excited; it’s great to be a part of the Melbourne Renegades family. I’ve always followed the Big Bash and it’s a great opportunity for me to come and play some good cricket. I’m really looking forward to coming to Melbourne and to get going.’ He called it a great opportunity for his new career.
Chand was recently involved in the Minor League Cricket tournament in USA, where he won the title with his side Silicon Valley Strikers. He was also named as the player of the tournament.
