The incident occurred during Ravindra Jadeja’s over when Head decided to unleash a powerful slogsweep. The delivery, pitched outside off-stump and spinning, was met with a determined stroke from Head. However, the execution was not perfect, as the ball was not placed in an ideal position.
Fielding at deep mid-wicket, Umesh Yadav found himself in the perfect position to complete a routine catch. As the ball spiraled towards him, Yadav moved to his right, aligning himself to secure the catch with ease. However, in a moment of despair, the ball evaded Yadav’s grasp and sailed over the boundary ropes for a six.
