There was no handshake between India captain Suryakumar Yadav and Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha during the toss ahead of their Group A fixture in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 at the R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, on Sunday.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to field first.

Visuals from the toss ceremony showed both captains standing apart after the coin flip, with no handshake exchanged before proceeding with the formalities. The match referee and presenter were present during the toss proceedings.

India were asked to bat first following Pakistan’s decision to bowl.

The fixture marks the 27th match of Group A in the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026.
