T Natarajan, the first Indian Cricketer who made his International debut in India vs Australia test series was one if the success stories for India in Australia.
Natarajan made his test debut in the final match against Australia in Brisbane after his debuts in ODI and T20 series. He also received a widespread praise and applauds from fans for his performance
In an interview at his hometown of Salem in Tamil Nadu, Natarajan said, “My teammates supported me in the dressing room as I was under pressure, their motivation and support helped me throughout the tour.”
During the tour Indian team was ossified by numerous injuries, before the final test Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hanuma Vihari being added to the list.
He also added that, “ when the opportunity was offered I was under lot of pressure, my only thought was to take wickets.”
Due to absence of senior cricketers all the responsibility and pressure fell on the shoulders of young cricketers.
On December 2,2020, in the third ODI against Australia he made his international debut where India won by 13 runs and Natranajan took two wickets.
In the fourth and final test he took 3 wickets. He said, “It was like a dream to take Australian wickets.”
He also added that, “Hardwork willnever go to waste. It is always rewarding.”
