Sri Lanka vs Zimbabwe: Sean Williams’s ton help Zimbabwe reach 296

Sean Williams, down the middle order knocked a stunning century as it helped Zimbabwe reach a target of 296.

Choosing to bat first, Zimbabwe played a brilliant knock of 296, as Sean Williams hit for a century.

Zimbabwe opt to bat first, started a well-deserved batting partnership, until the 14th over of sensible cricket. Vandersay took the first wicket for the hosts, sending Kaitano back for an lbw at the score of 42(51). No sooner did captain Craig get out cheaply, leaving Zimbabwe at 110-2 by 20th over. Coming to bat Sean Williams, remarked an example. His ton was crucial for the hosts to get under pressure before coming out to bat in the second innings. Chakabva too played a dominating knock of 72(81).

Chakabva, the wicket-keeper batsman for Zimbabwe opened and gave his team a positive start with his critical knock of 72 runs with a decent strike rate of 88.89.

Sean Williams, down the middle order, knocked a stunning century as it helped Zimbabwe reach a target of 296. Sean with 9 fours and 2 sixes, hit the ton with a brilliant strike rate of 114.94. Unfortunately, just after the century, Sean got bowled out by Karunaratne.

Karunaratne was able to take 3 wickets, bowling 10 overs completely, at an economy of 6.9. Along with Karunaratne, Vandersay and Pradeep took 2 wickets each.

With Zimbabwe at 296, it will be tough for the hosts to fight back and score a target of 297. Both the teams are ready to start their ODI series with a win.
