Thangarasu Natarajan is a left-handed medium seam bowler who made his international debut for the Indian cricket team in December 2020 against Australia. He plays in the Indian Premier League for Sunrisers Hyderabad and for Tamil Nadu in domestic cricket. He made his debut in domestic cricket for Tamil Nadu in the year 2018 in Vijay Hazare Trophy 2018-19.
In 2017, he was bought in the Indian Premier League by Kings XI Punjab for 3 crores but Punjab didn’t retain him because of his clumsy performance. He played 6 matches for King XI Punjab and only picked 2 wickets with an economy of 9.07.
In the year 2018, Sunrisers Hyderabad’s coach Muttiah Muralidharan bought the young pacer for his franchise. Hyderabad bought him for 40 lakhs and then retained him in the years 2019 and 2020 respectively. T. Natarajan plays for Hyderabad in the Indian Premier League since 2018, he played 16 matches for the franchise and picked 16 wickets with an economy of 8.02.
In his IPL career, he got the chance in 22 innings so far and has the best bowling figure of 2/24 in 4 overs. Natarajan emerged as one of the most decisive bowlers in the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. He is looking forward to performing for his franchise Hyderabad in IPL 2021.
