Days before the T20 world cup 2021 was due to commence, BCCI has made a huge announcement. Although there has been no clarification provided by the board as yet, the change is presumed to be made based on the fact that Hardik Pandya will not be fit to bowl. The star Allrounder who picked up an injury in 2019 is yet to be deemed fit to bowl the full quota of his overs. Although he has made a comeback in the team as a batter but is yet to deliver as a bowler.

On the other hand, Shardul Thakur has proven his worth both with the bat in and hand as well as the ball. He had a series to remember in England, as well as a decent outing with Chennai Super Kings in the IPL. He played for his franchise more as a first change bowler, still, the whole cricketing fraternity of India is now aware of his batting skills and will back him to deliver when the need be.

Axar Patel is now a part of the standby list which already includes players such as Shreyas Iyer and Deepak Chahar. Earlier it was also announced that Avesh Khan, Umrain Malik, Venkatesh Iyer, Harshal Patel, Karn Sharma, K Gowtham, and Shahbaz Ahmed are also to be a part of the Indian team’s bubble. They will stay back to help in their team’s preparation.
