Pakistani legend Shahid Afridi has been picked by Galle Gladiators for the first ever edition of the Lanka Premier League. He announced this news on social media handle that he will be playing in the inaugural edition of LPL.
He thanked the owner Nadeem Omar, who is first Pakistani owner in the LPL.
Nadeem Omar is also the owner of Quetta Gladiators in the PSL.
Along with Afridi, the Galle Gladiators have some solid players like Lasith Malinga, Colin Ingram, Mohammad Amir and Hazratullah Zazai in their squad. Sarfaraz Ahmed, former Pakistani captain who lead the Pakistani team to win Champions trophy in 2017 was also part of the squad. But on Tuesday he pulled himself out of the tournament.
Galle Gladiators are one of the favorites to win the LPL as they have one the most experienced and lethal side in the tournament.
