Ambati Rayudu, a former Indian cricketer, believes Ruturaj Gaikwad has the potential to be the next captain of CSK after MS Dhoni. Gaikwad, appointed Team India’s captain for the Asian Games 2023, has also led Maharashtra in domestic cricket and Puneri Bappa in MPL 2023.
Rayudu is confident that Gaikwad can lead CSK for the next decade, with MS Dhoni guiding him. The 2023 IPL showcased Gaikwad’s talent as he scored over 500 runs for Chennai.
With Dhoni’s career nearing its end, CSK is in search of a new captain, and Rayudu sees Gaikwad as the perfect fit. He believes Gaikwad should be a valuable asset to the Indian team in all formats.
“Ruturaj Gaikwad has a great chance to lead CSK for a decade. MS Dhoni can groom him really well. India should also capitalise Ruturaj well. He should be in the team for all the formats,” Rayudu told BehindwoodsTV on YouTube.
