Rohit Sharma recalls a date that Mumbai Indians fans can never forget

Mumbai Indians shared a picture of their legendary player in which he was with the IPL trophy in his hand as well as a picture of the IPL auction tweet by them that belonged from January 8, 2011.

Rohit Sharma posted an emotional video reminiscing his 11 years journey at the Mumbai Indians. The batsman rejoiced his long 11-year association with the franchise and shared an emotional video on the social media platform.

The Mumbai based Indian Premier League (IPL) Cricket team celebrated the 11 years of the Hitman in Blue and Gold with an old tweet ahead of that season in the year 2011 when he was bought.

 

Rohit Sharma played with the Deccan Chargers as his first IPL team that is now defunct and also won the trophy in the 2009 season with season. The player was then signed for US$2 million by the Mumbai Indians.

The veteran player remembered his journey at the franchise by sharing some of the moments he spent at Mumbai Indians through his Instagram story. The Mumbai based franchise then also shared a picture of their legendary player in which he was with the IPL trophy in his hand as well as a picture of the IPL auction tweet by them that belonged from January 8, 2011. The tweet of that year was, “Mumbai Indians buy Rohit Sharma for 2m!!!.”

The caption of the tweet by Mumbai Indians was, “We’ll just leave this here. 11 seasons in Blue and Gold for Our Captain, Our Leader, Our Legend. #OneFamily #MumbaiIndians,” and tagged Rohit Sharma. He commanded the franchise as a captain after Ricky Ponting, the former Australian player left that position in the middle of the 2013 season.
