PSL 2021: Multan Sultans defeated Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets to win their first match of the tournament

Multan Sultans won their first match of Pakistan Super League on Friday by defeating Lahore Qalandars by 7 wickets. Skipper Rizwan played an astonishing inning of 76 runs to help his team to get the first victory after two losses. Mohammad Rizwan and Shoaib Maqsood added 110 runs for the 3rd wicket while chasing the target of 158 runs set by Lahore Qalandars.

The opener Chris Lynn dismissed once again without scoring any run for the team. J Vince also scored just 5 runs and get trapped by Samit Patel. However, Rizwan and Maqsood handled the pressure and helped the team to win the match even after early losses. Maqsood remained unbeaten on the score of 61 runs.

Qalandars post a good total of 158 runs on the board with the help of the brilliant half-century of Mohammad Hafeez. Hafeez scored 60 runs in just 35 balls with the help of three fours and 5 maximums and also did a partnership of 89 runs for thee third wicket with J Denly.

Shahnawaz Dhani and C Brathwaite picked 2-2 wickets each for Multan Sultans. Sultans lost just three wickets while chasing te total in which two were dismissed by Pakistani star bowler Shahin Afridi. Qalandars lost their first match of the tournament and their inning streak of two matches couldn’t stayed long.
