PAK Vs AUS: Usman Khawaja and Steve Smith steadied the ship after losing two early wickets

Usman Khawaja brings up his third half-century in these three-match Test series against Pakistan. Steven Smith has handled a bit from the other end as Australia is now 100+ on Day 1.

Australia and Pakistan are playing their last game of Test in the three-match series and the match has been played in Lahore at Gaddafi Stadium. After drawing the previous two games, both the teams are now looking to clinch the series by getting a win in the last game. After Australia won the toss, they decided to bat first in the last game. Batting first, they find some difficulties at the start as Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed by the star bowler Shaheen Afridi for a duck. It was a marvelous delivery to dismiss the world’s No. 1 Test batsman.

After two early wickets of Marnus Labuschagne and David Warner, Australia was in big trouble but opener Usman Khawaja kept his calm and made a good partnership with Steve Smith to take Australia to a good total on Day 1. Usman Khawaja also completed his half-century and it was his third fifty in this series as the opener is in a quite good form.

With some amazing and calm batting display by both the batsmen (Steve Smith and Usman Khawaja), Australia managed to get 100 on the scoreboard. They reached a century in the second session and the way both the batsmen are playing, it seems difficult for the Pakistani bowlers to get their wickets now, but they haven’t stopped trying.
