ODI World Cup 2023: Indian bowling unit dominate Australia for their lowest ODI total

Australia won the toss and decided to bat first against India at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. The Indian seamers kept it tight since the very start, pushing Aussie openers on a backfoot. Jaspreet Bumrah sent Mitchell Marsh back to the pavilion for a duck, giving India a fiery start. Steve Smith and David Warner looked dangerous as they started to build a partnership. Here is when the Indian spinners came into the attack and collapsed the batting unit of Australia. Jadeja returned to his Chennai den to take down three wickets, sending Smith (46), Marnus Labuschagne (27) and Alex Carey for a duck.

The lower order couldn’t do much damage and was sent back home by Ashwin, Hardik, and Siraj. Australia managed to put only 199 runs on the scoreboard, making it their lowest total ever in the ODI.

Australia will have to bowl a step ahead of India to defend this match. However, the Aussies have never lost an ODI match at this venue. Will India break the Aussie streak with ease, or will they keep their winning streak going with a surprising victory?
