ICC’s statement revealed that during the 31st over of Afghanistan’s innings, the pacer Kingma tampered with the ball by scratching nails on the ball. Kingma in response accepted the guilt and agreed that the offence had been done. Acceptance of the action resulted in the four-match suspension, as per the match referee’s suggestion. The match referee of the game was Wendell Labrooy.

The Netherlands has also imposed a five-run penalty and also lost the match by a margin of 75 runs. Afghanistan won the series by 3-0. Vivian Kingma was able to take 2 wickets in 3 games, bowling 26 overs. The last wicket on 42.4 overs of Netherland’s batting made the Afghanistan winners and the last wicket was none other than Kingma’s.

The series ended with Afghanistan smiling as the board congratulated the “champions” and Scott Edwards has rewarded the Player of the Series as he knocked three consecutive half-centuries.
