The second session of the one-off Test match between Bangladesh and Afghanistan witnessed the hosts continuing their dominance on the field. Shanto and Mahmudul Hasan Joy resumed their innings after the lunch break and displayed impressive batting prowess. Shanto, in particular, reached a significant milestone by completing his third Test century.
The spinners from the Afghan side struggled to find their rhythm, consistently conceding runs with loose deliveries, full tosses, and even a few no balls. However, Rahmat Shah managed to break the formidable partnership of 212 runs as Mahmudul Hasan Joy fell victim to a catch at slip, brilliantly taken by the Afghanistan captain.
Mominul Haque initially seemed a bit rusty in his innings, but Bangladesh failed to capitalize on the opportunity to put him under pressure.
Instead, they offered him loose deliveries, allowing him to find the boundary on a couple of occasions. As the session drew to a close, the question arises: How many more runs can the hosts add to their total in the final session?
