After defeating Afghanistan by 88 runs in the second game, Bangladesh won their sixth straight ODI series at home.
Liton was named ‘Man of the match’ for his outstanding performance. He struck 2 sixes and 16 fours in his 136 in 126 balls helped them post a total of 306-4.
Bangladesh’s lineup hasn’t altered since the first ODI, whilst Afghanistan has made three changes. Ibrahim Zadran, Yamin Ahmadzai, and Gulbadin Naib are replaced by Riaz Hasan, Farid Ahmed, and Azmatullah Omarzai.
Liton Das scored his fifth ODI century and had a 202-run partnership with Mushfiqur Rahim to help Bangladesh reach 306 for 4 in Chattogram’s second match against Afghanistan. Rahim made 86 off 93 balls as the two batted together for 186 balls.
Afghanistan battled courageously for half-centuries under the leadership of Rahmat Shah and Najibullah Zadran, but the target proved to be too high for them.
Shakib Al Hasan finished with 2/29 after blowing through Afghanistan’s middle order with his left arm spin.
Bangladesh has overtaken England at the top of the ICC ODI Super League points standings after winning today’s match.
Bangladesh’s ICC rankings also have improved as a result of the series victory. They were in the seventh place, slightly ahead of Pakistan. They have now jumped ahead of Pakistan after today’s victory.
