Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal excited to play against Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and MS Dhoni

Youngster Yashasvi Jaiswal shares his thoughts on sharing the stage with big names of Indian cricket

Over the years Rajasthan Royals has nurtured a lot of young talents. This year the franchise has brought a few young players and Yashasvi Jaiswal was one of them. He was brought by the side for a sum of Rs 2.4 crores. Jaiswal has a huge amount of pressure that comes with the price tag but he is not focused on that. He believes that it will be an excellent opportunity to play the IPL 2020 and learn from the likes of Dhoni, Kohli and Rohit Sharma.

“It would be great to play against Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma and Dhoni. We can only learn from such big cricketers and get inspired. It is a big deal for me,” Yashasvi Jaiswal told Hindustan Times.

“The price tag doesn’t really matter to me at this stage of my career. I just want to focus on playing, learn from my senior players, and develop my game and to take it to the next level. IPL is going to be watched by millions; getting a chance to play is amazing.” he further added.

Jaiswal was a part of India Under 19 World Cup in 2020 where he impressed the audience with his performance with the bat. He was named the player of the tournament for scoring 400 runs in the chase to the finals. The youngster wants to have the same impact when he represents Rajasthan Royals.

“It’s an away IPL and due to COVID, it’s going to be a challenge. I’ve been preparing hard at the nets with seniors like Robin Uthappa and Sanju Samson. Playing with the white ball under lights would be a different experience and I’m getting used to it. I’m excited to be part of the Rajasthan team in my first IPL. I have the chance to entertain people with my skills,” Yashasvi Jaiswal said.

The IPL is all set to begin from tomorrow i.e. 19th September in UAE. Rajasthan Royals will begin their campaign against Chennai Super Kings on 22nd September.
