Avesh Khan has been a pick of a bowler for Delhi Capitals this year. He has been in top touch this season and after the three wickets that he picked up against Mumbai Indians on Saturday, he has also become the third joint highest uncapped wicket-taker in IPL.
When facing a team like Mumbai Indians, who have a very sorted batting lineup with every player knowing their role, the opposition requires to play their cards perfectly. Delhi Capitals did just that and came out of the match with the right record. Captain Rishabh Pant used his bowlers in the best way possible, and Axar, Nortje, and Avesh the pick of his bowlers delivered their best performance.

After Axar Patel toppled the top order, it was Avesh Khan who cleaned up the lower order to make sure that Mumbai Indians couldn’t reach their desired target. The Delhi Capitals coach Ricky Ponting was full of praise for his young bowler, during the match he said on Star Sports Network, “Avesh Khan is one of the most improved bowlers in the IPL. It’s an enjoyable squad to coach with those players of youth and experience and Indians and overseas players.”

After the great outing with the ball, Avesh Khan has now become the second bowler to pick up 20+ wickets in this season of IPL after RCB’s Harshal Patel. He is in a strong contention of challenging Patel who has 26 wickets against his name and is the current holder of the purple cap.
