Sunrisers Hyderabad has not won a single match in the IPL 2020 edition. With poor batting performance, the team is highly dependent on their openers for scoring the runs. Manish Pandey has been a good batsman for the side but has been unable to convert the big runs into wins for the side.
SRH has had issues in their middle order and they see far away from having solved the problem already. On days when Warner and Bairstow score good, the team is in a safe corner but it isn’t the same when they are unable to do so. Manish Pandey is a power hitter but has not been able to play consistently. The last match against KKR, the batsman looked like he sustained an injury and there have been speculations that he might miss the upcoming fixture.
It is very important for SRH to have Pandey in the squad if they are looking for a win which they need desperately. While the management will be looking to make changes in the squad, it looks unlikely that Manish would not find a spot. He might not be able to stabilise the middle order but he makes sure he contributes something with the bat in comparison to all the other batsmen on the side. The contest between SRH and DC will be a match between the best performing and the worst-performing team in the IPL 2020 so far. It is an important win for the SRH and the eyes will be on how the team performs this evening.
