A left-arm fast bowler, Dwarshuis has picked up 12 wickets from seven List A matches and 100 wickets from 82 T20 matches in his career. He represents New South Wales in List A cricket and plays for Sydney Sixers in the Big Bash League. He is the sixth-highest wicket-taker in the history of the tournament and has taken an overall 85 wickets in 69 Big Bash matches.
Dwarshuis was also part of the erstwhile Kings XI Punjab squad in the IPL. He will join the Delhi Capitals team bio bubble in the UAE soon, according to the team’s official announcement.
Woakes, along with his English teammates Jonny Barstow (Sunrisers Hyderabad), Dawid Malan (Punjab Kings) and other players who were part of the test series against India have pulled out from the second leg of the premium T20 tournament due to varying personal reasons. There has been speculation in regards to the players from England as many of them might not be able to compete in the playoffs if they are selected for the T20 World Cup squad.
Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, are leading the points table with twelve points from eight games, winning six games and losing two. Two teams are hot on their heels, Chennai Super Kings and the Royal Challengers Bangalore. The second half of this extravaganza will begin from the 19th of September and end on the 15th of October.
