Chris Lynn’s name comes first in the top 5 fielding moments. In 2014, this Australian batsman took the catch of AB de Villiers in the last over against Royal Challengers Bangalore. This was Chris Lynn’s first match for Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL and Bengaluru needed 9 runs to win in the last over but after this brilliant catch from Chris Lynn, Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match by 2 runs. Chris Lynn caught this catch of AB de Villiers while running on the boundary. Earlier, Chris Lynn had slipped while running but he made a good recovery later and executed this brilliant catch. AB de Villiers and the entire stadium were also stunned by this catch of Chris Lynn.
Second, on the list after Chris Lynn, Nicholas Pooran’s sixer saving effort on the boundary line. In the match against Rajasthan Royals in 2020, Nicholas Pooran had presented a wonderful and incredible fielding view while fielding on the boundary and jumped on the other side of the boundary, and prevented a six. While stopping this six, Nicholas Pooran’s whole body was in the air and he threw the ball inside the boundary while he was in the air and saved four runs for the team. Despite this brilliant effort of Pooran, Punjab Kings lost this match but this effort of Nicholas Pooran was appreciated by all the experts and the audience. Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar also praised Nicholas Pooran on Twitter and said that “he has not seen such a boundary saving effort in his career.”
After Nicholas Pooran, Ravi Bishnoi is the third name on this list. Ravi Bishnoi caught a brilliant catch while running on the boundary line in the match against Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad in 2021, after which even Sunil Gavaskar also praised him. Punjab Kings scored 123 runs in this match and Kolkata got a target of 124 runs in 20 overs to win this match. In the third over of Kolkata’s innings, Ravi Bishnoi caught the catch of Sunil Narine and got Punjab Kings back in the match. This catch of Ravi Bishnoi was also one of the best catches of IPL 2021.
After Ravi Bishnoi, the fourth name in this list is Mumbai Indians vice-captain Kieron Pollard. Pollard took a brilliant catch in the 2014 match against Rajasthan. In this match against Rajasthan Royals, Kevon Cooper hit a big shot off Harbhajan Singh but Pollard first jumped and threw the ball inside and then came back from the boundary line and took a brilliant catch while diving. Due to this brilliant catch by Kieron Pollard, Kevon Cooper has dismissed for 5 runs in this match and Rajasthan Royals lost the match by 25 runs.
The last name on this list is Sanju Samson. Sanju Samson, playing for Delhi Capitals, presented a spectacular fielding view against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2017. Sanju Samson jumped on the boundary and threw the ball inside the boundary line and saved four runs for the team. Despite this effort of Samson, Delhi lost this match but his effort was appreciated by all.
