TATA IPL 2022: Sunrisers Hyderabad’s x-factor players for playoffs

If they want to be in the playoff mix, the Kane Williamson-led team will have to make a rapid turnaround and return to the top 4, as they now have 10 points from eleven games.

Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently placed at the sixth position on the points table of this season of the Tata IPL 2022. SRH has a net run rate(NRR) of -0.031 after 11 games, winning five and losing six. But it will be some crucial hands to help LSG sail through playoff stage and help the franchise win their IPL Title on its debut in the league. Let’s take a look at the x-factor players that will be critical to help SRH reach the top four.

Umran Malik

Despite appearing in only three games in the IPL 2021, pacer Umran Malik was retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad ahead of the mega auction in 2022. He gave up runs at a costly rate early in the season, with only a few wickets, but the team management kept him up, and he delivered.

Malik bowls with a consistent speed of 150-155kmph, and he has won the fastest delivery of the match honor in nearly every match he has played this season.

Umran has 15 wickets in eleven games this season, with a best of 5-25 against Gujarat Titans.

Rahul Tripathi

After surprising everyone with his batsmanship previous season for KKR (average of 28 and strike rate of 140), the Sunrisers Hyderabad purchased Rahul Tripathi for a hefty 8.5 crore.

Tripathi took high-risk strokes, some of which were successful, but his tendency to play the attacking style and chance his wicket and average had everyone cheering him. His hitting has improved dramatically, and he is now SRH’s warrior with the bat in the middle overs.

The right-hander has already scored 308 runs in 11 matches with a strike rate of 164.70, an average of 38.50, and the best may yet be ahead of him.

Bhuvaneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar was the top wicket-taker in 2016, with 23 wickets in 17 games. He continued his outstanding form with the ball, becoming the first bowler in IPL history to earn consecutive Purple Caps. In 2017, he took 26 wickets in 14 matches.

He presently has a 30.80 average after taking 10 wickets in 11 games.

SRH pacer reached a major milestone by being the top wicket-taker in powerplays in IPL history with 54 wickets.

T Natarajan

The skill of Natarajan to hit the blockhole is the cause for his prominent profile. When Natarajan was playing tennis-ball cricket in his hometown of Salem, he realised that the only way to keep the soft ball from losing pace after striking the clay surfaces he was playing on was to go full. His performance has earned him tremendous praise. In IPL 2020, Natarajan bowled 71 yorkers.

For SRH, Natarajan has bowled with good pace and struck both in the powerplay and in the death.

With an average of 17.82, he presently has 17 wickets in nine matches.

Aiden Markram

Aiden Markram has been quite consistent in his ability to score runs throughout the tournament. He has 326 runs scored in 9 innings, with an average of 65.20 and a strike rate of 142.98.

Sunrisers Hyderabad’s right-handed batter and right-arm off-break bowler.

Markram didn’t make much of an impression, but his effectiveness in a somewhat new middle order role for South Africa in the shortest format helped him secure another job this season, which he eagerly accepted. Markram has been one of the star players for Sunrisers Hyderabad this season, with three fifties in eleven games.
