Rahul Tripathi of Sunrisers Hyderabad appears to have a strong record against Umesh Yadav, scoring 62 runs off 28 deliveries with seven boundaries, three sixes, and a strike rate of 221.4, while Umesh has yet to take Rahul’s wicket.
Tripathi’s IPL career began in 2017 with the Steve Smith-captained Rising Pune Supergiants. He played well in his IPL debut, amassing 391 runs at 27.93 and striking at 146.44 in 14 games. In the final, the Supergiants were defeated by the Mumbai Indians by one run. Tripathi has had a good career in the IPL, having represented four organisations so far. With seven fifties and a strike rate of 138.14, he has 1485 runs in 66 games at an average of 26.52 and seven fifties.
After winning the toss, the Sunrisers Hyderabad chose to bowl against the Kolkata Knight Riders. J Suchith was named in place of Washington Sundar, who was wounded. Kolkata made their debuts with Aaron Finch and Aman Khan. After sustaining torn webbing in his bowling hand, Sunrisers all-rounder Sundar is expected to miss at least the next two IPL matches.
