TATA IPL 2022: Royal Challengers Bangalore wins the toss and elects to bowl first

A fresh new look, the sixth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 would pit Royal Challengers Bangalore against Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR began their voyage with a victory against Chennai Super Kings, while RCB was defeated by Punjab Kings.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their next encounter today, who finished second last year. This match will take place in Mumbai’s Dr. DY Patil stadium and will start late in the evening (7:30 pm) IST.

Faf du Plessis won the toss and chose to bowl first.

Royal Challengers Bangalore (Playing XI): Faf du Plessis(c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Dinesh Karthik(w), Sherfane Rutherford, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, David Willey, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj

The DY Patil ground features a pitch that provides bowlers good bounce, however it is often true. As a rule, we may expect matches to yield scores in the range of 160-170.

The Shreyas Iyer-led KKR got off to the best possible start by sweeping away the reigning champions Chennai Super Kings in the first match. The bowlers set the tone for victory by restricting the opposition to 131 runs, and the batsmen responded by cruising through the chase with ease.

On the scoreboard, RCB amassed a massive total of 250-2. Faf du Plessis smashed 88 runs, while Dinesh Karthik smashed 34 runs in rapid succession. Punjab Kings then chased down the target with five wickets in hand. The RCB bowlers must pull up their socks as they prepare to play Kolkata at the same location.
