The new skipper of Royal Challengers Bangalore Faf du Plessis gave a sweet start along with the debutant named Anuj Rawat. Both the openers played some exquisite shots which helped them get past 40 runs in the powerplay. RCB are 41/0 in the first six and will be looking to take advantage of this in reaching a big total. It was a start that RCB’s fans expected and they really expect a lot from Faf this year as they want to win their maiden IPL title.
Punjab Kings are also playing with a new captain, Mayank Agarwal after their former captain KL Rahul left the team to join Lucknow Super Giants this year. It is a great opportunity for him to captain the team and Punjab Kings has really done a great job in this year’s mega auction back in February. However, the bowlers of Punjab Kings still couldn’t find the breakthrough. It was a great start from RCB batters but not from Punjab Kings’ bowlers as they kept searching for wickets and didn’t find a single in the first six overs.
Former captain of RCB, Virat Kohli is also in the team and Indian fans are expecting a century from him in this 15th season of IPL, but it will be interesting to see whether he can end his longest century drought.
