TATA IPL 2022: Rashid Khan v/s Jonny Bairstow; fans excited for their first encounter

At the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl against Punjab Kings.

Fans are looking forward to seeing Jonny Bairstow of the Punjab Kings take against Rashid Khan of the Gujarat Titans today.
Jonny Bairstow, the PBKS’ outstanding England batsman, has finished his quarantine and will play tonight against Gujarat Titans.

At the IPL 2022 mega auction in February, he was bought by Mayank Agarwal’s Punjab Kings for Rs 6.75 crore.

Bairstow made 248 runs in seven matches for the Sunrisers Hyderabad last season, averaging 41.33 and included two half-centuries. Bairstow has a total of 1,038 runs in the IPL at an amazing average of 41.52 in 28 matches, with 107 fifties at a strike rate of 142.19.

Rashid Khan, perhaps the finest leg-spinner, was brought into the Gujarat Titans squad ahead of the IPL 2022 Mega Auction for INR 15 crore.

Rashid’s skill with the ball has gained all the right attention since his first IPL season in 2017. In SRH’s run to the finals in the 2018 edition, the leg-spinner produced a few remarkable match-winning performances. He was the second-highest wicket taker in that tournament with 21 wickets.

Rashid has established himself as one of the most efficient spinners in the IPL since his debut in 2017.

Punjab Kings (PBKS) will look to break Gujarat Titans’ unbeaten record in the 2022 Indian Premier League after a strong 54-run victory against reigning champions Chennai Super Kings.

Given his track record versus the Punjab Kings, Rashid Khan will be a valuable asset for Gujarat Titans. In GT’s first two games of the season, he was economical against the Delhi Capitals and the Lucknow Super Giants, respectively.
