Mumbai Indians’ Jasprit Bumrah records his maiden IPL five-wicket haul against Kolkata Knight Riders in the 56th match of the ongoing season.
It’s also worth noting that this is Bumrah’s best figure in the Indian Premier League thus far.
He secured the fifer after dismissing Nitish Rana (43), Andre Russell (9), Sheldon Jackson (5), Pat Cummins (0), and Sunil Naraine (0) all through the match, giving him a 5/10 figure. He only conceded ten runs after bowling four overs.
After Anil Kumble (5), he became the second player in IPL history to give the least runs while snatching up five or more wickets.
He enabled MI (5) to become the league’s top franchise in terms of the most number of fifers.
Bumrah is considered as one of the most deadly bowlers in modern cricket because of his ability to taunt batsmen with yorkers and bouncers.
In the first half of the IPL 2022, Bumrah showed a different side of himself, picking up just five wickets in ten matches at an economy rate of 7.93. Bumrah, but at the other extreme, made a strong comeback in today’s match at DY Patil Stadium.
Mumbai Indians restricted KKR to a score of 165/9 owing to Bumrah’s fifer.
