Lucknow Supergiants defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 12 runs on the batting-friendly pitch of DY Patil Stadium. Sunrisers Hyderabad won the toss and elected to bowl first and invited Lucknow to bat first.
For Lucknow Supergiants, Captain KL Rahul played a captaincy innings today and scored 68 runs in 50 balls. Apart from KL Rahul, in-form Deepak Hooda also scored another half-century and took his team to a respectable score of 169 runs. Washington Sundar and Natarajan bowled brilliantly for Sunrisers Hyderabad and both the bowlers took two wickets each.
Sunrisers Hyderabad is currently ranked 10th in the points table due to two consecutive losses and a poor net run rate. This is the second win of Lucknow Supergiants this season and the biggest credit for the win goes to Avesh Khan. Avesh Khan bowled the best of his IPL career in this match, taking 4 wickets for 24 runs in 4 overs, and was successful in winning his team.
The last few seasons have been very disappointing for Sunrisers Hyderabad and this time the team had bet on new players in the mega auction but none of the players have been able to live up to the expectations of Sunrisers Hyderabad.
