After facing 89 balls in 12 innings in the ongoing IPL 2022, Dinesh Karthik has the second most number of sixes (18) in death overs. He is only behind Shimron Hetmyer of the Rajasthan Royals, who has 19 sixes in 98 balls.
In the 54th match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, Dinesh battled spectacularly in the final overs to help RCB complete the innings strongly.
In the last over, Karthik faced IPL youngster Fazalhaq Farooqi and hammered three sixes and a four off the last four balls. In their 20 overs, RCB scored 192 runs owing to his knock.
Karthik remained deep in the crease, giving himself enough space to get under Farooqi’s heavier deliveries and smash them into the deep mid-wicket stands.
Karthik set an IPL record for the highest strike rate by a hitter in an IPL innings for a minimum of 30 runs by hitting 30 off just eight deliveries.
Karthik’s performance in the Indian Premier League 2022’s 20th over has been outstanding, as he faced 23 balls and scored 71 runs with a strike rate of 308.70.
Dinesh Karthik has looked solid as a finisher throughout the tournament, dominating practically every bowling attack he has faced.
