TATA IPL 2022: Delhi Capitals in big trouble; skipper Pant departs for 1

Delhi Capitals had a bad start in the second innings as they ended the powerplay with 46 runs and lost opener Tim Seifert, Mandeep Singh, and skipper Delhi Capitals.

Prithvi Shaw and Tim Seifert gave a brilliant start to Delhi Capitals in the first three overs during their chase against Mumbai Indians at Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai. After Tim Seifert was dismissed by spin bowler Murugan Ashwin in his first over, this explosive start from Delhi was ruined as they lost another wicket in the same over. Murugan Ashwin gave the breakthrough to Mumbai Indians which they wanted as his second wicket was Mandeep Singh who played a bad shot and threw away his wicket in the fourth over.

Captain Rishabh Pant came to bat after Mandeep was dismissed, but he also couldn’t make his innings memorable as he was departed in the very next over by the new Mumbai Indians’ bowler named Tymal Mills. It wasn’t the start Delhi Capitals would have expected as they lost three wickets in the powerplay and can only score 43 runs.

Delhi Capitals are chasing down a heavy target of 177 against MI and it seems very difficult for them to reach this total as they are already three down. But there is still hope as their opening batter Prithvi Shaw is in the crease and calmly keeping the scoreboard ticking. It will be interesting to see whether the Indian opener plays a massive inning and make his team win.
