A member of the Delhi Capitals’ squad has reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, raising doubts on Sunday’s evening match between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals.
One of the Delhi Capitals’ net bowlers tested positive on the day of the match. According to reports, DC has moved to isolate the player and another bowler who shared his room with him.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the entire squad was subjected to a new round of PCR tests on Sunday morning and was advised by IPL officials to remain in their hotel accommodation till further notice.
The IPL is still yet to comment on the match, which is set to take place at the DY Patil Sports Academy.
At their Saturday practice session, Capitals and Super Kings players met and mixed. The Super Kings have still not been called to take any further tests, according to reports from ESPNcricinfo.
According to IPL regulations, anyone who tests positive in the tournament bubble must isolate for at least seven days. To re-enter the bubble, the individual would have to provide two negative PCR tests spaced by 24 hours.
Delhi is in fifth position in the IPL points table, having won five games and lost five.
