TATA IPL 2022: Axar Patel completes 1000 runs in the league

On Sunday, the Delhi Capitals faced the Kolkata Knight Riders by a score of 215/5 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, setting a target of 216 for the Riders.

In the IPL 2022 season’s 19th match against Kolkata Knight Riders, Delhi Capitals’ Axar Patel completed his 1000 runs in the Indian Premier League.

Axar Patel, a Gujarati bowling all-rounder, had secured his debut IPL franchise with Mumbai Indians in 2013, and a move to KXIP the following season solidified his status as a household brand in the tournament. Axar was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 5 crore during the IPL auctions ahead of the 2019 season, marking him the franchise’s second most expensive player. The franchise has chose to retain him ahead of the TATA IPL 2022 auction.

DC got off to a flying start after being selected to bat first, with Shaw and Warner adding 93 runs for the first wicket. As KKR pegged DC back in the middle overs, Shaw was removed for 51 runs and Warner was dismissed for 61. Shardul Thakur and Axar Patel, on the other hand, concluded the innings in style, taking the total above 200 runs.
