Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is contemplating changes to their coaching staff, not renewing contracts with director of cricket operations Mike Hesson and head coach Sanjay Bangar after a disappointing sixth-place finish in IPL 2023.
Hesson joined in 2019, improving RCB’s performance, but they failed to qualify for the playoffs in 2023. Despite reaching three IPL finals, RCB has never won the title. If Hesson departs, it might impact the support staff of RCB’s women’s team.
“Their contract with RCB is still intact,” RCB said in a statement. “The team is still under the process of review. We will come back if any announcement on the changes in the team.”
Lucknow Super Giants have already replaced their head coach, indicating a trend of team management changes post-IPL 2023. RCB aims to revamp and strategize for future success in the league.
