Just when CSK seem to be in a muddle, the veteran player Robin Uthappa decided to step up to save his team. In the 1st Qualifier of VIVO IPL 2021, Chennai Super Kings were struggling in the second inning, while chasing the target of 172. Their adversaries in the first inning had had a great start, provided by the swift and quickfire knock that was played by Prithwi Shaw. They also had an amazing end, courtesy to the great Fifty that came off the bat of their Captian.
Chennai Super Kings looked to be in grave trouble when their dependable opener Faf du Plessis was dismissed in the 4th ball of the innings. The South African was sent back to the pavilion by his fellow teammate Anrich Nortje, and CSK was reduced to 1 for 3 runs. That is when Robin Uthappa walked in. With Ruturaj Gaikwad on the other end, he started building up the partnership slowly. It didn’t take him long enough to change gears though, in the 6th over he took on Avesh Khan for a ride and scored 20 runs off his over.
Just what #CSK needed! @robbieuthappa brings up a fine half-century off 35 deliveries.
