Royal Challengers Bangalore batter Rajat Patidar postponed his marriage to play IPL as per his father. Rajat Patidar was named ‘man of the match for his stunning ton against Lucknow Super Giants in the Eliminator game on Thursday at Eden Gardens, Kolkata. It was one of the finest innings played by any batter in the IPL playoffs game.
Rajat Patidar remained not out for 112 runs. He took just 54 balls and hit 12 boundaries and 7 sixes in this whole inning. Lucknow Super Giants bowlers were prepared for skipper Faf du Plessis, Virat Kohli, and Glenn Maxwell but Rajat Patidar came out of syllabus in the game. Without his innings, it wouldn’t be possible for RCB to go past 200 runs in the first innings. Rajat Patidar couldn’t have played this game against Lucknow Super Giants, as his marriage was fixed. But, he wanted to complete this season (IPL 2022) that’s why he postponed his marriage.
“The plan was to get him married on May 9. It was supposed to be a small function and I had booked a hotel too in Indore,” Manohar Patidar, Rajat’s father said to The New Indian Express (TNIE).
After seeing his (Rajat Patidar) wonderful inning on Thursday against LSG in one of the important games for them, RCB fans definitely would have loved his decision to stay in the bubble and postpone his marriage.
