According to the Board of Control for Cricket in India, Jasprit Bumrah was abruptly pulled from a three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka as a preventative move. (BCCI). Since then, Bumrah’s career has experienced three turbulent months, and things have only gotten worse for him. He travelled by plane to New Zealand, underwent back surgery, and even made it back to his native country, but the BCCI has remained resolutely quiet.
On Wednesday, there was the first official announcement, or proof, that Bumrah would not be participating in the IPL. Bumrah’s departure will be significant for the team, according to Rohit Sharma, who was speaking to the media from the Mumbai Indians platform.
After Bumrah, Jhye Richardson has been ruled out of the entire season due to his injuries. Mumbai Indians is yet to announce their replacements.
After originally pulling up in the BBL, Richardson tried a comeback last week but experienced a recurrence of the injury while playing amateur cricket. He was unable to play in the ODI series in India, so the decision to have surgery was made in an effort to find a long-term fix.
