On Tuesday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) officials have confirmed the news that the last two games will be conducted between the Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, as well as Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore, will start together at the same time simultaneously.
The race to the playoffs looks like a tougher battle for many teams as there is no still guaranteed of their spot in the playoffs yet. The fight for the spot in the playoffs is far from over, as KKR beating Delhi Capitals makes their chances alive. There will be a lot of pressure seeing the points table for the team who need to qualify. The Governing Council also came with the decision to introduce two new IPL teams for the upcoming Indian Premier League tournament next year which is set to be announced on the 25th of October this year. The intensity of the competition is at its peak level, where the final playoffs spot is yet not decided until the last game. This move has been taken only to ensure that teams don’t consider it as an advantage after the result of the match kis now in the afternoon game.

The BCCI has officially confirmed it in their statement by mentioning “In a first for the IPL, the last two league matches before the VIVO IPL 2021 Playoffs will be played concurrently. On the last day of the league stage (08.10.2021) of the ongoing season, instead of having one afternoon match and one evening match, two matches (SRH v MI and RCB v DC) will be played simultaneously at 7.30 PM IST (6.00 PM GST).”
