
Two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders on Friday picked up Australia’s limited-overs captain Aaron Finch as a replacement for Alex Hales. Alex Hales had decided to pull out of the IPL a few days back due to the cited bubble fatigue. After the withdrawal of Alex Hales from the IPL, Kolkata Knight Riders have now included Australian star batsman and opener Aaron Finch in the team. Kolkata Knight Riders have included Aaron Finch in the team for Rs 1.5 crore.
Aaron Finch made Australia champion for the first time under his captaincy in the T20 World Cup held in UAE last year.
Aaron Finch has played a total of 87 IPL matches in which he has scored 2005 runs at an average of 25.70 and strike rate of 127.70.
Aaron Finch has a record 9th franchise in IPL and he has become the first player who has appeared for 9 franchises in IPL. Aaron Finch was first included in 2010 by Rajasthan Royals, after which Finch was also associated with Delhi Daredevils for two seasons. Apart from these two teams, Aaron Finch has also played for Pune Warriors India, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Mumbai Indians, Kings XI Punjab, Gujarat Lions, and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been the runner-up of the IPL 2021 season and KKR will play its first match of the IPL 2022 season against defending champions Chennai Super Kings on 26 March at Wankhede Stadium.
