Kieron Pollard hits out at Aakash Chopra’s comment in a now-deleted tweet

MI completed the season at the bottom of the league table, with Pollard scoring only 144 runs in 11 innings at a poor strike rate of 107.46. Throughout the season, he only took four wickets.

In a video posted on his YouTube channel, former Indian cricketer and cricket commentator Aakash Chopra commented on Mumbai Indians’ all-rounder Kieron Pollard, saying, “I think we have seen the last of Kieron Pollard. 6 crore will be released if they don’t retain him. I think they can let Murugan Ashwin (Rs1.6 crore) go as well. I am not sure about Jaydev Unadkat (Rs1.3 crore) but they can definitely say bye bye to Tymal Mills (Rs1.5 crore)”.

“Kieron Pollard should go and Dewald Brevis should come in. How many chances would you give to Pollard? He has just not been scoring runs. His bowling could be useful on this surface but you wouldn’t pick him in the team for his bowling. So I think the time has come to say tata bye-bye to Pollard,” Chopra further added.

In response to cricket commentator Aakash Chopra’s criticism of Kieron Pollard’s performance, the former West Indies skipper mentioned Chopra and tweeted, “Hope the fan base and followers increased… keep it flowing”. Pollard, however, deleted the tweet shortly after being sent out.

Kieron Pollard had a dismal IPL 2022 season for Mumbai Indians, and he was pulled from the starting lineup. The Mumbai Indians have signed the West Indian for the IPL 2022 season in order to strengthen their middle order. Pollard, on the other hand, failed to meet expectations, scoring only 144 runs in 11 games.

In terms of the Mumbai Indians’ record, the five-time winners have failed to enter the playoffs this season after having one of the poorest starts to an IPL season. With only three wins in 14 games, Mumbai remained last in the IPL 2022 points table.
