The quickie form Australia is the no.1 ranked bowler in test cricket in the world for his exemplary performance with the ball in red-ball cricket. He was also awarded the vice-captaincy along with Travis Head in 2019. In 2020 he was made the sole vice-captain of the side after Alex Carey was dismissed from the position.

With numerous records with the ball, Kolkata Knight Riders will be expecting the same kind of results from the bowler for their side as well. Even with Andre Rusell on their side they have missed having a strong bowling squad and Cummins addition should do them some good.
