When the auctioneer announced the name of all-rounder Washington Sundar who was not retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore before the IPL mega auction. The new franchise Gujarat Titans were the first team to pounce on the allrounder and started to bid for the player.
Sunrisers Hyderabad was able to hijack the allrounder from Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans at the last moment for 8.75 crores.
The allrounder is a right-handed off-spinner who can bowl tight lines and bowl accurately and loves to open the bowling for the team he plays for. This is a good addition to the SRH camp as the player can also contribute with the bat in the lower middle-order if required.
The previous franchise of Sundar, RCB didn’t even bid for him as they signed Sri Lankan allrounder Wanindu Hasaranga for 10.75 crores.
SRH now has 59.25 crores at their disposal to make their team for the upcoming IPL season. And will be looking at the right opportunities to bid for the players they want.
